Cell Cultivation Systems

Pfeiffer provides innovative solutions for cell cultivation in laboratories. Efficient cell cultivation is driven by optimal supply of oxygen and nutrients as well as by removing inhibiting metabolic waste products. These factors limit the maximum cell density obtainable from standard, homogeneous cell culture techniques which are consequently poor at achieving high expression levels of proteins. CELLROLL and CELLSPIN by Pfeiffer are designed to overcome those limitations. Pfeiffer’s modular roller (CELLROLL) and spinner systems (CELLSPIN) are ideal for cell cultivation of anchorage-dependent and anchorage-independent cells.

The CELLROLL rolling device is designed for agitation of up to 16 roller bottles. CELLROLL can be installed in standard and CO2 incubators.
The rotation angle is adjustable from 10 to 40° with steps of 5°. The basic model is equipped with 2 decks for 4 bottles. It can be enlarged by adding up to 6 more decks, which may either be positioned in a vertical pile or in a horizontal formation.
There are two drive units available: One with a speed range from 0,1 to 2 rpm (adjustable in steps of 0,1 rpm) and the other from 2 to 6 rpm (adjustable in steps of 0,5 rpm).
The CELLROLL system consists of a control unit and the rolling and/or spinner devices. Two roller devices or one roller and one spinner device can be operated with one control unit.
The control unit allows programming of velocity, pendular, angle, intervals and breaks and enables storing of 10 different cell cultivation programs. More information

The CELLSPIN spinner device is designed for agitation of up to 4 flasks of 100, 250, 500 or 1000 ml. CELLSPIN can be installed in standard and CO2 incubators.
In the pendulum mode, the angle is adjustable from 180 to 1 440° with steps of 180°. The speed is adjustable from 5 to 40 rpm with steps of 2.5 rpm. In the circulating mode, the speed is adjustable from 40 to 75 rpm with steps of 5 rpm.
The CELLSPIN system consists of a control unit and the spinner and/or rolling devices. Two spinner devices or one roller and one spinner device can be operated with one control unit.
