Kjeldahl Systems

We offer BUCHI’s versatile range of Kjeldahl systems for digestion and steam distillation for various applications. Our solutions guarantee maximized productivity, whether it is classical protein determination according to Kjeldahl, reflux digestion with aqua regia or direct distillation of steam-volatile compounds. We offer the complete portfolio for Kjeldahl analysis, including distillation systems (Distillation Unit - K-350 / K-355, KjelFlex K-360, KjelMaster K-375), digester (KjelDigester K-446 / K-449, SpeedDigester K-425 / K-436, SpeedDigester K-439, Wet Digester B-440), scrubber (Scrubber K-415) and downstream equipment (KjelSampler K-376 / K-377). A wide spectrum of methods can be programmed on our systems for various sample matrices featuring steam regulation, reduction, dosage of acids and automated analysis by means of an external titrator.

The KjelFlex all in one solution with modular design represents the most flexible distillation unit available. 50 methods can be programmed for various sample matrices featuring steam regulation, reduction, dosage of strong acids and automated analysis by means of an external titrator. The possibility to connect the external titrator and to select acid resistant pump for other non-Kjeldahl applications makes this unit the ideal choice for most of the users.

The KjelFlex K-360 is also available with the Methrom Titrino Plus 877 titrator. The package offers several benefits such as automatic aspiration of the sample tube and receiving vessel after titration as well as automatical result transferring to the KjelFlex. More information

The KjelMaster K-375 distillation unit is captivating due to the high throughput and full automatization. An internally built titrator enables the detection of the pH via both colorimetric or potentiometric techniques. To achieve the highest sample loads possible the K-375 is upgradable with the KjelSampler 376/377 units. The 8,4” display offers unprecedented user flexibility and the advanced data management guarantees result traceability. More information

Transferring samples by steam overpressure not only extends the sample tube lifetime, but it also reduces maintenance costs due to the lack of an error proned lifting. If combined with the KjelMaster K-375, both unattended and continuous distillation operation for 24 or 48 samples is possible.
The newly designed sample transfer principle with practically no carry-over effect is a guarantee for perfect results with minimum user involvement need. More information

Through reducing the block digestion process by up to 2 hours, the KjelDigester allows more samples to be digested. The 20-position block digester, coupled to KjelSampler K-376/377 offers high degree of automatization as well as unattended digestion processes. The instrument includes fully automated programming, a convenient self-acting lift, easy rack transfer and full control of the scrubber. Moreover, the KjelDigester meets the highest safety standards as the improved sealing prevents harmful fume to be released. More information

This entry level model of IR digestion with 6 (K-425) and 12 positions (K-436) provides fast digestion, flexible use and reproducible results. The Instrument offers all advantages of IR digesters together with simple individual heating level adjustment. More information

BÜCHI Labortechnik AG
Combining all the features of IR and block digestions, the SpeedDigester K-439 offers fast, unattended sample digestion through short heat up and cool down time. The instrument delivers excellent reproducible results due to the possibility of processing under precise time and temperature control. However, its major advantage is the possibility to use various digestion tube sizes and the selection of add-ons for other applications (reflux for aqua regia digestion and COD determination).
